So much has changed since I last updated this site. February was spent working on a commission and taking in a few exhibitions including the Toulouse Lautrec exhibition at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath. The work was so much larger than I had realised and the impact of all the work together was amazing.
During early March I was asked to run a few workshops over the next few months and I had time to think about art events coming up in April, May June & July. Since then COVID-19 has struck and the world has changed. Events and workshops have been cancelled and the normal buzz of seeing fellow artists at the events and selling work has all gone on hold. Fortunately my family remain well so we're doing what we're told to do and staying at home. So during the last 2 weeks what have I done other than listen to the news? Well first of all I've been listening to a podcast another artist, Gina Belford, recommended called 'Art Juice'; an engaging and informative conversation between 2 artists, Alice Sheridan and Louise Fletcher. I'm only on podcast 9 so have loads to go before I'm up to date but it's all still relevant and inspiring. I have started clearing my old studio space of old work but making sure I'm keeping a record of how my work has changed over the years. I've also started painting for exhibitions that will hopefully take place later in the year including this big one; early stages of work and loads to go! |
