I am an artist based in High Littleton, near Bath, in the UK. I paint semi abstract, contemporary landscapes in acrylic and mixed media. As well as painting I run workshops and co-host the Artchatter podcast.

NEW WORK
I'm pleased to add 3 new mixed media pieces of art to the website; it's a trio of small framed artwork celebrating the coast called 'Coastal Song', Tide Ebbs' and 'Tidal Flow'. For these pieces I have explored the use of incorporating visual texture by collaging 'print' upon wet strength tissue paper to add to mark making in paint.

'Building the layers: exploring acrylic and mixed media landscapes
Do you get frustrated using acrylic when it doesn't do want you want it to? I will show you different techniques that I use with acrylic paint/ink using a variety of tools (including palette knives), how to stay loose & expressive and how to build depth of interest through layering. After exploring this you will then create 2 paintings putting it all into practice. Suitable for all abilities. |
The natural environment is a huge inspiration for me; it's that ever changing light that dances, the movement of clouds and that feeling of being such a small part of the landscape that speaks to me.
