Online workshop - new to the website
‘Creative Sketchbooks’. This is a workshop in which I take you and your sketchbook on a journey of discovery as you join me live online for 3 workshop sessions exploring your creativity. Using nature as a prompt I’ll be guiding you through the process I use when I work in one of my ‘creative’ concertina sketchbooks; you will get over 6 hours of teaching which will take place over 3 x 2.5 hour sessions using Zoom. As free bonus I will (technology permitting!) be recording the sessions * so that each attendee can get a chance to see the session again and work through it at their own pace. NEW
'Sketching & Acrylic Painting' workshop 2 day workshop Accommodation NOT included. 8 spaces per workshop During this 2 day workshop I will guide you through my entire painting process. Day 1 will teach you skills to make your sketchbooks a valuable part of your painting process. You will learn how to notice and then capture what it is about a place that resonates with you and how to respond to these sketches back in the studio. Day 2 will introduce you to techniques and tools you can use with acrylic paint & ink, acrylic mediums, colour, how to stay loose & expressive and how to build depth of interest through layering.
After exploring this you will then create 2 paintings putting it all into practice using your day 1 work as a foundation. Suitable for all abilities. |

'Mixed Media Sketchbooks' workshop
1 day workshop £95 inc materials 8 spaces per workshop A wonderful opportunity to take time out and tap into your creativity with artist Karen George. Explore patterns in nature using a variety of materials and techniques including Gelli plate printing. Collate your creative journey into a concertina sketchbook. Suitable for all abilities - all you need is the curiosity to experiment.

'Dive into Print & Collage' workshop
1 day workshop 8 spaces per workshop Do you like the idea of collage but don’t know where to start? This workshop is a brilliant way to engage your creativity in a relaxing environment. Make your own collage material, exploring print and mark making. Learn how to balance tone, texture and colour to create your own original artwork.

1 day workshop 8 spaces per workshop This 1 day workshop will teach you skills to make your sketchbooks a valuable part of your painting process. This is not a painting workshop about creating beautiful pieces of artwork - it's about guiding you to learn how to notice and then capture what it is about a place that resonates with you and how to respond to these sketches back in the studio. This is about laying the foundations for future work so you can go back to your own studios with a clear direction.

Venue
My 2024 workshops will be held at Stratton on the Fosse Village Hall. The venue offers a mix of outdoor inspiration as well as a light airy indoor space to work in; plenty of opportunities to fill your sketchbooks and spark off ideas for future work.
