'Creative Sketchbooks - collage and colour' workshop with Karen George

Based at Stratton-on-the-Fosse village hall; this 1 day workshop will take you and your sketchbook on a creative journey using the landscape as a prompt.
The workshop is all about embracing collage in developing ideas in your sketchbook; you'll explore colour, shape and mark marking to describe the landscape. I will lead you through some exercises that will help you see the landscape with new eyes and think more creatively about what it is about a landscape that inspires you.
A great chance to get loosen up and play using the landscape as a prompt in a fun and supportive session.
Suitable for all abilities.
Workshop details:
- The workshop runs from 10am - 4pm with a break for lunch.
- Attendees should aim to arrive from 9.45am - time to meet up and grab a coffee before cracking on with the workshop.
- The workshop will be in Stratton-on-the-Fosse village hall - a bright airy space.
- During the workshop we'll be embracing collage to explore colour, shape and mark marking using the landscape as a prompt. You'll leave with a sketchbook full of inspiration and your head buzzing with ideas.
- Identifying colour; as part of the process I will introduce you to the joys of colour mixing using acrylic.
- Refreshments (i.e. tea, coffee & cake) are included.
- Remember to bring your own packed lunch.
- Materials are included but you are of course welcome to bring your own art materials if you prefer.
- There is parking next to the hall.
